This is it. The last book of the trilogy. Alina and Mal are again hidden away from the Darkling- who now has himself a very large army. Alina and Mal and now at the disposal of the apparat and Alina no longer feels the gentle sun blessing her powers. Alina is just a shell of the girl she was./ But, they must find the phoenix if they are to win this war.

Oh No’s

The middle was quite boring. Like really really boring actually. I don’t want to reveal too much but they just waster time moving from one place to another and then they whole time in the forest was such a waste but I see why it was a part of the story.

Yay’s

A great end to the series, I especially enjoyed the epilogue/After scene. Ugh those are my favorite. Other than that, there really wasn’t anything special or unpredictable about this ending. It was really fast to read just like the rest of the series. I do

Finally,

Leigh Bardugo did a great job closing up this trilogy and I can’t wait to continue reading the rest of her books.

My similar recommendation for this novel would be Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas.

Favorite Quote

“He dipped his hand in, then yelped and drew back. ‘They bite.’

‘Serves you right,’ I said.’Oh look, a dark lake full of something shiny. Let me put my hand in it.'”
