This book is written entirely in text form.
Martin Nathaniel Munroe II is the name belonging to two people, not just one. This creates quite the mixup when Haley, our main character, texts one of them and falls under the impression that she is talking to the other (his cousin). This is a story all about mistaken identities and a budding romance all through the form of texts.
The topics of conversation were quite boring around 70 % of the time. It was just facts upon facts of random information that I now know. And none of this information benefited the story other than as a talking point. I did enjoy them though!
I felt that Mr. Munroe just kept pining after her over and over. I don’t know. I just felt that Haley came off as so snobby and up tight but that was just what I felt about her.
I’m a sucker for a good romance. This is a great quick little romance written is such a unique manner. The language was also quite up to date with how middle graders text so I loved that.
If you are looking for a quick romance read to pass the time, then look no further!
My similar recommendation for this novel would be Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. This is for the style of writing.
