Annie “Antigone” sur Aela and Lee sur Pallor are literally the greatest names and I am happy to introduce these two main characters to you. In the book Fireborne, we follow these two and their fight to become Firstrider. Lee is the hidden son of the previous ruler and is bent on forgetting about his past. Annie knows the truth about Lee and the two grew up together in an orphanage. When there are signs of the previous rulers rebelling, Annie and Lee are thrown into a political and life-altering war that neither sees coming.
All young adult authors, please stop choosing names that already belong to something for your characters. Just make one up like you did for the main people! When I’m reading about how Duck and Rock are talking to each other, I’m literally imagining a duck talking to a freaking rock! How is this possible when our main girl is Antigone sur Aela, now that is a powerful name.
I am loving this plot line. A tournament for the ages and action packed matches are now my favorite things to find in a novel. I loved the characters interacting with each other and being able to see two side of a situation as well as what the other one was thinking at the time.
Hello, DRAGONS. And the amazing tournament that we follow throughout this story. Our characters must face each other in order to see who will become Firstrider: a title coveted by every dragon rider. We don;t delve into the dragons and how they work too much which is great because we already know who and what dragons are. This is definitely a dragon book to add to your lists.
I put one dragon book on hold to read this one and my recommended is another dragon book that I read. I really enjoyed this book and I
My similar recommendation for this novel would be Deadweed Dragons.
